HI THERE.I am Elizabeth Martin, LCSW, LCDC. Congratulations on taking the first step towards making changes in your life! The decision to seek therapy services can be difficult and requires a huge amount of courage. I have the utmost admiration and respect for those who do so and feel privileged to participate in the healing process. My mission is to help people find more balance and peace in their lives by helping them to find the courage to let go of ineffective reactive cycles and change the things they can, thus controlling their own personal chaos. I help people improve their emotional well being and enhance their ability to engage in healthy and healing relationships. I help clients focus on personal responsibility vs. blame, choice vs. reaction, and health and wholeness vs. pathology and illness. I embrace the entirety of an individual’s experience; honoring the mind-body connection, helping clients to remember the importance of living in balance. As an integrative psychotherapist, I believe that the therapy should draw on diverse theories that best suit the client’s individual needs. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor. I am strongly committed to providing personalized treatment based on a variety of techniques that are known to be effective. I will help you recognize your behaviors, reactions, responses, and thought patterns, so you can plan and succeed in making positive changes in your life. I welcome my clients’ input in determining what works for them. I hold certifications in both Clinical Social Work and Chemical Dependency Counseling. I am a Trauma therapist and specialize in addictive disorder, but I provide a wide range of psychological services for teens and adults. I offers individual, couple and family counseling in my Frisco, TX office, serving North Dallas and the surrounding areas. I received my Master of Social Work degree from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA in 1995, have worked in the field of addictions since 1992, and started my own private practice in 1998. My husband and I recently bought and now share office space together. On occasion, you may see our sweet 4 year old dog, Beignet, visiting the office. We have four children together, ranging from middle school to college ages, who keep us laughing, learning and driving to many activities.
